Between the Platinum Event Solutions team we have over 350 years of travel and event experience and have travelled to over 45 countries. However, the world is always changing so we ensure all our team are constantly broadening their product knowledge and are on the look-out for interesting destinations and venues.


Sharon Levingston - General Manager

Sharon heads up Platinum Event Solutions team and brings more than 28 years experience in the Industry.

Sharon is responsible for program planning and implementation along with frontline travel management consultancy. Her passion for delivering unique conference and incentive programs that motivate. Her passion for delivering events remain forefront of the company’s client service delivery edict - every group and travel event should be memorable.

Rachel McCarthy - Director

Rachel has over 15 years’ experience in the Travel and Hotel industry. Having worked in various cities around Australia in a number of key hotel positions, has given Rachel the know-how in negotiating the best possible rates with hotels and conference suppliers.

Rachel’s attention to detail and “can do attitude” is a major factor in the success and the ongoing growth of the company.

Greg McCarthy - Managing Director

With over 30 years’ experience in the industry, Greg McCarthy is responsible for the overall direction of the company. Starting with a marketing cadetship and an eight years run with Qantas, Greg launched the first privately owned business Travel Company in Brisbane which he managed for the next ten years.

In 2000 Greg’s business was acquired by Business Travel International (BTI) known now as the global travel company HRG Australia. He went on to spend five years working as an Executive Director prior to moving back to NSW.

Through Greg’s extensive experience in airline negotiation, the company offers a strong platform for client savings across our network of offices around Australia.

Talynn Markarian - Senior Event and Conference Manager

Talynn has a wealth of travel experience especially with groups and incentives and has travelled the world many times over. Talynn started in the travel industry in 1999 with Kintetsu Travel and many years with Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

Louise Mc Kew - Senior Event and Conference Manager

With over 15 years in the travel industry, Louise is Unique World Travel’s group and incentive travel specialist. Louise has travelled to many destinations over the years with Europe, South East Asia and the USA being particular favourites. Louise began her career in travel with ATS Pacific inbound then moved to Carlson Wagonlit Travel. Louise brings with her a wealth of destinational knowledge and travel industry expertise to our company.

Sofie van Overmeir - Event and Conference Manager

Sofie has over 8 years’ experience in the Events Industry and has completed a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Event Management

Sofie began her career in the Hospitality industry, working at an exclusive international golf club as part of the Food and Beverage Team. She also managed events such as corporate golf days, social events and weddings.

Sofie’s next role as Project Manager for a Sydney based Events Company saw her managing a range of events for over 4 ˝ years. These events ranged from small outdoor events for 250 people to major outdoor sporting events attracting  up to 35,000 participants.
